To comply with their functions, the deputies and bodies of the Regional Assembly need a parliamentary Administration, consisting of its own personnel, and materials provided to the body pursuant to the principle of autonomy. The aim of such an organisation is to support the parliamentary body. The norm regulating the structure and functioning of the parliamentary services is the Statute on the Internal Regime and Personnel of the Regional Assembly of Murcia, approved by the Plenary of the Chamber on December 21st 2004. The Administration of the Regional Assembly is structured in the Presidential Administration and the General Secretary. Presidential Administration It is the body responsible for the assistance and advice of the Chairman of the Regional Assembly, in the exercise of his duties, as well as the rest of the members of the Table of the Chamber. The head of the Administration will exercise, amongst others, the functions of assisting and advising, both techinically and administratively, the Chairman of the Regional Assembly; the coordination of the relations of the regional deputies, parliamentary bodies and press; and protocol and public relations. It has the following structure:
General Secretary It is the body responsible for the technical and judicial assistance and advice of the parliamentary bodies. The head of the General Secretary is the Lawyer – Secretary General, who will be in charge of the the management of every service and personnel of the Chamber, without prejudice to the attributions corresponding to the higher bodies.
