Budgetary, economic and financial functions PDF Print

The power to approve a budget is one of the most typical and relevant functions of a parliament, which constitutes the historical origin of this body.

The Regional Assembly of Murcia is in charge of approving the enactments on General Budgets of the Autonomous Community by means of an examination, amendment and approval of the text submitted by the Governing Council.

Nevertheless, within this economic and financial scope, the Regional Assembly has other duties amongst which we can highlight: the debate and vote concerning the bills with extraordinary or supplementary credit; the examination and approval of the General Account of the Autonomous Community; and, by virtue of the taxation legality principle, the approval of everything concerning the establishment, amendment or abolition of special taxes at a regional level; or the extra charges deriving from the State.
