Asamblea Regional de Murcia

It constitutes the power to elaborate and approve enactments on issues concerning its competences provided by the Statute of Autonomy.

The legislative initiatives are derived from the Governing Council or from the members and the Parliamentary Groups, which are responisble for creating bills. Likewise, initiatives can derive from citizens, city councils and regions in accordance with Act 9/1984, dated November 22th.

Once the text of the legislative initiative has been received, the Table of the Assembly will verify that it meets all the formal requirements and will accept it. Afterwards, the Table will order its publication in the Boletín Oficial de la Asamblea Regional (BOAR) —the Official Gazette— being fully or partially amended within fifteen days, although this period may be modified in the procedures declared as urgent or in certain situations.

Then, this text will be sent to the corresponding Committee —depending on the matter— in order to analyse, discuss and vote on it. Once the amendments regarding it as a whole, if any, have been rejected, the text will be discussed in committee in order to analyse the partial amendments.

This body will issue an opinion which will be discussed and voted by the Plenary of the Chamber. The resulting approved text will eventually become an act, and it will be sent to the Chairman of the Regional Assembly of the Autonomous Community in order to be enacted and published in the Boletín Oficial de la Región de Murcia, the step which constitutes its entry into force. It will also be published in the Boletín Oficial del Estado (BOE) — the Official State Gazette.
